Privacy Notice
What we store, why we use it and your choices.
Updated October 8, 2026For privacy questions or requests, email max@odditydrop.com or use the contact form.
Scope and contact
This notice explains how OddityDrop handles information through odditydrop.com, including its contact form and restricted employee workspace. Email max@odditydrop.com or use the contact form with privacy questions or requests. This notice does not cover independently operated websites that we link to, such as Instagram.
Information you provide
When you use the contact form, we store your name, email address, selected contact reason, message, optional link, submission time, and a reference number. We also record internal review status and priority so authorized reviewers can handle the request. We use this information to review and respond to inquiries, investigate corrections and rights concerns, consider story suggestions, and prevent misuse of the form.
Please send only information needed for your request. Do not include passwords, payment details, government identification numbers, confidential documents, or unnecessary health or other sensitive personal information. Sending a message does not subscribe you to marketing and does not transfer copyright in submitted material.
Technical and security information
The hosting infrastructure processes connection and request information, such as IP addresses and request details, to deliver and protect the website. Security controls may use derived identifiers from email addresses and IP addresses to limit repeated submissions or sign-in attempts. These controls are intended to prevent abuse, not to create advertising profiles.
For authorized employee access, we store account details, password-verification hashes, session records, and security information. Editorial activity records identify the authorized account and changes made in the workspace. Public visitors do not need a reader account, and the website does not currently offer public comments or visitor account registration.
Cookies and browser storage
The employee workspace uses an essential sign-in cookie, “__Host-odditydrop_staff,” that expires after eight hours. Signing out clears that sign-in cookie and invalidates the associated session. Separate platform authentication may apply to the site owner's access and is governed by the platform's own privacy information.
The story archive stores your choice of grid or list view in your browser under “odditydrop-story-view.” It remains until you change it or clear your browser's site data. Dates can be displayed using the time zone supplied by your browser; that display feature does not request your precise location.
This version of the site does not include advertising pixels, third-party audience-analytics tools, or embedded social-media players. Links to external sources and Instagram open separate services. Those services can collect information when you visit them under their own policies.
The website does not change its operation in response to a browser's Do Not Track signal. Its own features do not track your activity across other websites for advertising. This description does not change any rights you may have under applicable privacy law.
Who can access information
Contact submissions are available to authorized staff in the restricted editorial workspace. We use hosting, database, and file-storage providers to operate the website, including Cloudflare infrastructure. These providers process information needed to deliver, store, secure, and maintain the service. Contact messages are not displayed as public comments.
We may disclose relevant information where legally required or where lawful and reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, address a rights claim, or protect people and the service. If resolving a complaint requires sharing information with another party, we aim to limit what is shared to what is necessary for that purpose.
Storage and retention
Contact messages remain in the editorial inbox for review and follow-up. There is currently no automatic expiration for these messages. Marking a message reviewed or moving it to the workspace's Trash does not erase it from storage.
Account, editorial, rights, and security records may be kept for operating the site, documenting changes and permissions, investigating misuse, or meeting applicable legal obligations. Hosting providers may also retain operational logs and backup copies under their own retention practices. Signing out ends a session; it does not delete an employee account or its activity history.
You can request removal of information you submitted by emailing max@odditydrop.com or using the contact form. We consider the request, any need to verify it, and any legal or legitimate recordkeeping requirements. We do not promise that moving a message to Trash deletes it or that all copies disappear immediately.
Your choices and requests
You can read public articles without submitting a contact message. You can clear site data or control cookies through your browser, although disabling the employee sign-in cookie prevents employee access.
To request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you provided, use the contact form and select “General Inquiry.” Include the submission reference if available and explain the request. We may need to verify that the information is yours before acting. Please do not send identity documents through the form. Privacy rights and any applicable exceptions depend on the law that applies to your situation.
Children
The contact form is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not submit personal information through it. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Security
We use access controls and other safeguards to help protect information, but no website or transmission method is completely secure. Do not use this contact form for emergency reports or highly sensitive communications.
Changes
We will update the date on this page when the notice changes. Material changes to information practices will be described in the updated notice and, where required by law, brought to your attention through additional notice or consent. Changes do not remove rights or protections that apply to information already collected.
Temporary page-refresh storage
The site may store a temporary flag in your current browser tab to prevent repeated page refreshes when an image’s permitted display period ends. It does not contain your contact details or track activity across websites.
Contact OddityDrop
We may not be able to respond to every submission. For inquiries, please allow up to three business days for a response.
